As demand for Grillo's Pickles continued to grow across the country, the company set out to create a new facility that could support its expanding operations while providing employees with a workplace that reflected the energy and momentum of the brand.
Because the project was a completely new build, Grillo's had a unique opportunity to shape the employee experience from the ground up. The goal was to create a fresh, modern environment that would inspire employees, encourage collaboration, and make the office a destination people wanted to be part of.
Custer partnered with the Grillo's team throughout the planning process, leading a series of design meetings and discussions to better understand how employees would work within the new space.
Together, the team landed on an open office layout featuring lower-height cubicle walls that promote visibility, communication, and connection across departments. Private offices and a large training room were also incorporated to support focused work, learning, and team development.
The finished space provides employees with access to a variety of work settings, including meeting spaces filled with natural daylight through expansive glass walls. Phone rooms offer privacy for focused conversations, while acoustic wall tiles help manage sound throughout the workplace. A large training room furnished with Groupwork flip-and-nest tables provides flexibility for onboarding, collaboration, and company-wide gatherings.
Featuring solutions from Steelcase, Hightower, and Three H, the new workplace balances openness with functionality—creating an environment designed to support Grillo's continued growth while fostering connection, collaboration, and employee engagement.
With a variety of spaces that support focused work, team collaboration, and ongoing learning, the new facility gives employees the tools and flexibility they need to do their best work. As Grillo's continues to expand its reach and meet growing demand nationwide, the workplace is well-positioned to support both the people and the culture driving that success.
